Khloe Kardashian will be continuing her regular hospital visits to estranged husband Lamar Odom while he makes his slow recovery after a drug overdose in October.

Lamar, 36, has been hospitalised since then, making slow but steady progress towards regaining his cognitive and motor functions lost after the near-fatal overdose.

He was found unconscious in a brothel. Khloe, 31, has been by his side ever since the overdose, and plans to continue being “there for him”, according to People.

A source told People that “the Lamar situation still weighs on Khloe” and that “she’s not one who just walks away”.

“She’s going to be there for him, but she also needs to start focusing back on herself – and she knows that,” said the unnamed source.

Khloe, who contracted a staph infection from spending so much time by Lamar’s side in the hospital in November, previously told People she was committed to supporting the former NBA player.

“There is a very long road ahead of [Lamar],” she said. “He has to walk that road by himself, and, most importantly, he has to want to walk that road.

“I will be there supporting him every step of the way.”

Some reports have said Lamar's recovery has reached the point where he is walking, but Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, where he is being treated, told People his condition was the same.

The source also revealed that Khloe is looking forward for 2015 coming to an end: "2015 was a hard one to say the least. She feels the new year will bring new things, and she certainly deserves it."
