Forget about Barry M and Kylie Jenner’s new range, KFC has now branched out into the world of nail polish.
Working with Ogilvy & Mather and food technologists at McCormick (the company that provides KFC’s secret mix of herbs and spices), the chicken chain has created nail polishes that taste like their two favourite recipes.
"The recipe for our edible nail polish is unique and was specifically designed to hold the flavor, but to also dry with a glossy coat similar to normal nail polish," said Ogilvy creative director John Koay.
Although this is actually a real thing, KFC are not mass producing it – not yet anyway.
To tease the nail polishes, KFC have released a music video and have been promoting the project on social media, asking what the consumers think is the best flavour to be put into mass production.
The Hot & Spicy polish is an orangey red colour, whilst the Original Recipe is classic nude – so they are totally on trend right now!
The brand said in a statement: "To use, consumers simply apply and dry like regular nail polish, and then lick—again and again and again."
And Twitter has certainly had their fair share of reactions to the idea…
However, at the moment this is just a PR campaign and whichever flavour wins will be mass-produced in Hong Kong. But if it does well, we could soon be seeing KFC nail polish all over the world!
Would you wear nail polish that tastes like KFC chicken? And which flavour would you choose?
