Katie Price’s ghostwriter Rebecca Farnworth dies aged 49

The woman behind Katie Price’s literary success has died.

Rebecca Farnworth, 49, sadly lost her battle with cancer at the end of last month.

Brighton-based writer Rebecca ghost wrote Katie’s million selling debut autobiography Being Jordan in 2005, and her novel Crystal, which outsold the whole of the Booker Prize list in 2007.

In total, Rebecca wrote 14 novels and autobiographies under businesswoman Katie’s name.

Rebecca’s agent Maggie Hanbury previously said that Being Jordan ‘broke the mould’ for celebrity autobiographies.

She said: “The book broke a mould, creating a new genre that went on to spawn countless other celebrity memoirs.”

Paying tribute to her client, Maggie said: “Vibrant and full of life, Rebecca was huge fun to work with, always ready with a quip to set the room alight with laughter.

In total she wrote nine of Katie's novels

“She created memorable authentic characters that seemed to have a life of their own.”

Katie has never made a secret of the fact she doesn’t physically write her own books. Speaking at the launch of her latest novel Make My Wish Come True, she said: “You have to have the imagination to really set the scene.

“I come up with a plot with the [ghost] writer, and then we go through each chapter together.”

Mum-of-three Rebecca also released her own novels: Valentine, A Funny Thing About Love and Swimming Pool Summer.

Katie is yet to comment on Rebecca’s death.
