Lisa Cunningham admits that Josie, 23, has brought all of the negativity on herself and says she doesn't understand some of her daughter's decisions.

She told the Mirror: "I can see where people are coming from when they say they hate Josie.

"I am the mother of the most hated woman in Britain – maybe in the world or even the universe. I can see when these things come out of her mouth more and more people are going to turn against her – and that's hard."

Lisa said that, while she knows what Josie says is sometimes wrong, she doesn't always believe her.

She continued: "Smoking when pregnant is wrong. Aborting a child because you want to be famous would be wrong too. And loving a child more because it's a boy or a girl is wrong. These are the things Josie is hated for.

"But I know my daughter and I know she will love her child – just like I knew she wouldn't go through with the abortion. She called me on the morning she was supposed to be going to the clinic and said, 'f*** it, mum, I'm having another baby'. I just smiled."

Lisa thinks Josie's attention-seeking ways stem from the 'psychological trauma' of her breasts not developing properly when she was a teenage.

She added: "She's bold and gobby and controversial. In my opinion she is famous for all the wrong reasons. She's my daughter and I love her but I hop in the future she will be famous for the right reasons."
