The husband of Beyonce, who has a daughter Blue Ivy with the star, is the focus of a civil law suit in which a 21-year-old man claims to be his son.
21-year-old Rymir Satterthwaite has been identified in court papers as the possible son of Jay Z, after he romanced a teenage Philadelphia girl, Wanda, two decades ago.
The paternity battle has been ongoing for several years, with Jay Z successfully blocking a DNA test previously to find out if he was the biological father of Satterthwaite.
However, Rymir’s mother only suggested Jay Z might be the father after another man took a DNA test to prove the kid was not his, court papers showed.
Wanda Satterthwaite waited almost two decades to name Jay Z as a potential father of her son.
The family have been taken by surprise by the sudden media interest in the case, as they had kept the case quiet for so long.
‘We didn’t expect someone to leak it to the press. We weren’t expecting this’ said Rymir’s godmother, who added she was just looking out for her godson.
Jay Z’s supposed affair with Wanda happened long before he hit the big time, or met his wife of seven years Beyonce, with Rymir being born in 1993.
Three years later in 1996 Jay released his platinum selling first album ‘Reasonable Doubt,’ going on to become one of the top selling artists of his time.
No one from the Jay Z camp has responded to the allegations at the time of publishing this article.
