Celebrity comedian Jason Manford has expressed outrage over the treatment of Bedworth schoolgirl Maddie Stevens.
“Doesn’t anyone have a heart anymore?!"
It was revealed last week that little Maddie had missed out on a school trip to Frankie & Benny's - which was organised to reward 100% attendance - because she’d missed one day of school.
Why? Because she wanted to attend her mother’s funeral.

Jason, a father of three girls, heard about Maddie’s plight, and shared the story on his Facebook page, amassing 50,000 ‘likes’ and thousands of messages of support for the St Giles Junior School pupil in Bedworth.
The top comic wrote: “What a heartbreaking story!
“Sometimes people can be absolute b******s! Take for example the people in charge at St Giles Junior School in Bedworth."

“The ********* in power here wouldn’t let a little girl go on a school trip because she didn’t have 100% attendance record, a record she only lost because she attended her mother’s funeral!
“Doesn’t anyone have a heart anymore?!
“And how have they dealt with it?
“St Giles said: “Following concerns raised, the rewarding of pupils for 100% attendance has been withdrawn.” Brilliant, so you’re punishing all the kids because of one girl’s mum dying! Now she’ll be known as the girl who got the trip taken away from them! Don’t these people think!?"

“This has made me so angry!
“If you’re reading this Maddie, or Maddie’s Dad, get in touch and I’ll send you to Frankie and Benny’s my bloody self! B******s!”
Jason then posted the story again, writing, “St.Giles; Patron Saint of Breast Cancer patients.
“No more words. Too upsetting a story this.”

A short while later, Jason revealed to Facebook fans that he had contacted Frankie & Benny's about the incident - and that they were working hard to provide a treat for the young girl themselves.

The dad-of-three added: "Hopefully young Maddie will get her apology from the school soon too."
