Brenda Leyland, 63, was exposed as one of the people posting abusive messages about missing Madeleine McCann’s parents.

After a dossier containing the messages was handed over to police, a journalist at Sky News tracked down Ms Leyland and asked her why she targeted the McCanns and their nine-year-old twins.

She answered at the time: “I’m entitled to do that”.
