A house that can split in HALF if you divorce actually exists!

Couple arguing

It is a sad reality that divorces DO happen and more times than our parents generation (as much as they like to rub it in, eh).

With that in mind, design and engineering firm Studi OBA have created a house which splits in half and has called it ‘a response to the increasing divorce rates in todays' society’.

Omar Kbiri’s idea was inspired by the canals of Amsterdam, where the company are based, so their concept only works if you’re house balances on a canal.

Still pretty cool though?

The house looks like one, but has two components which slot snuggly together. If you’re partner starts to snore or forgets your birthday AGAIN, you can sperate the house (we are not quite sure of how easy this is exactly) and your houses will slowly drift away.

Omar told Huffington Post: "A lot of the people around us came up with the horror stories of break ups and divorces. What happens with mortgages, taxes and needing to find something new quick... moving back in with your parents even.

"So I thought, 'Why isn't there a house built for that?'"

The best part is, if you get back together you can slot your home back together as if nothing had ever happened. Madness.
