Hotpoint recall thousands of dishwashers: Is yours at risk?

Hotpoint have recalled over 300,000 dishwashers that may have a fault which could lead to a serious risk of fire.

The company earlier confirmed there have now been 18 incidents in which appliances have caught fire.Machines sold under the Indesit and Hotpoint brand have been potentially affected.

The recall applies to dishwashers manufactured between January 2008 and July 2010.

Serial number affected

The serial number is 9 digits long.

If the first five digits are between S/N 50401 and S/N 80531 then the dishwasher is at risk
