Stacie and her three-year-old daughter, Alysha, had got on a busy bus in Dublin, as normal.

But, when they went to sit down, the toddler started screaming.

Her mother turned to see her little girl crying and blood pumping from her finger.

And, more horrifyingly, a dirty needle on the ground… filled with heroin.

“When I saw the colour of what was in the needle, I nearly passed out,” she told the Irish Mirror.

“It was like everything flashed in front of me. All I remember is saying ‘I need help for my baby. My baby needs an ambulance’.”

Stacie rushed her baby girl to the nearest hospital, where doctors immediately began running tests on her bloods,

She told the Irish Mirror: “We have to wait and see for the HIV tests to come back. But to know that my daughter put the finger on something that was stuck into someone’s vein makes me sick.

“No parent should ever have to go through this. This country is ruined by heroin.”

A spokeswoman for the bus company in Dublin have confirmed that they have launched an investigation into what happened.

Noel Rock, councillor for the city, also said that he hopes that the CCTV cameras on the bus will provide enough information to track down the person who left their used needle on board.
