A family has been left in shock after 19-month old J’Zyra Thompson died when she was left trapped in an oven.

It is believed that the infant’s elder siblings placed her in the oven where she suffered from severe burns.

Police reportedly found J’Zyra beside the oven ‘covered in burn marks’.

Tragically, the little girl died from her injuries in hospital.

J’Zyra’s mother, Racquel Thompson, left her alone with her 5-year-old and 3-year-old siblings whilst she and her boyfriend went out to get pizza.

Though the children intentionally placed J’Zyra into the oven, they’re very young ages mean that the toddler’s death is being treated as an accident.

However, Child Protective Services in Texas believe that criminal charges may be filed against J’Zyra’s mother which mean that her remaining children could be put in emergency custody.

The children’s father is also seeking to gain custody.

Our thoughts go out to J’Zyra’s family at this tragic and difficult time.

A GoFund page has now been set up to raise funds for J'Zyra's funeral
