Weddings are supposed to be a time of excitement and celebration, but one bride has found herself mourning the loss of four of her bridesmaids after her hen do took a tragic turn.
Seven other people were injured in the horrific crash between the party’s limousine and a drunk driver.
The hen party were leaving a winery in Long Island, New York, when a red pick up truck crashed into the side of the limo.
Eye witness Lynne Lulfs told local news: The pickup truck was halfway through the limo.
"We saw bodies hanging out of the left side of the car. They looked like young girls. It was just arms, and heads and hair."
Three of the four casualties died at the scene whilst the fourth woman passed away after being rushed to hospital. They were all reportedly between the ages of 24 and 25 years old.
The bride-to-be is said to be in critical condition.
Police Chief Martin Flatley said: “He hit the brakes right before and he broadsided the limo right on the passenger side
“This is one of the worst accidents I've ever seen.
“We don’t even have half of the people identified because they went to three different hospitals. We’re trying to sort out all the details.”
The driver has since been arrested and charged with driving whilst under the influence.
