Ex-Holby City actress Laila Rouass has shared her ordeal on Twitter after hiding in a restaurant freezer during the Barcelona terror attack that occurred yesterday.

Laila, 46, who is best know for being an actress on Holby City, Footballer's Wives and was also a contestant on Strictly, live tweeted the horrific ordeal whilst in a restaurant on the famous Las Ramblas in Barcelona whilst on holiday.

The actress, who is married to world-famous snooker player Ronnie O'Sullivan, was caught up in the attack which has so far claimed the lives of 13 people and wounded more than 100.

Laila's first tweet at 6.19pm read: "In the middle of the attack. Hiding in a restaurant freezer. Happened so fast. Praying for the safety of everyone here."

Over an hour later at 7.28pm, she wrote: "Gunshots just heard. Armed police running down thw street looking for someone," and a few minutes later added: "Hearing 1 suspect just been shot."

She then uploaded a video in which you can see a helicopter circling overhead.

At 7.45pm, she wrote: "The whole of #lasRamblas and surrounding roads in lock down with armed police everywhere," before updating her followers on the progress of the police.

Her last tweet at 8.06pm read: "Thank you to the staff at the restaurant for staying calm and keeping us safe. I love you Barcelona."

It's unclear whether her husband Ronnie or her 10-year-old daughter Inez, from her relationship with Nasir Khan, were in the restaurant with her.

Our thoughts are with everyone in Barcelona and their families.
