Proving that animals are often kinder than people, this dog in Thailand tries desperately to cover the dying fish with water, perhaps sensing they need it to survive.

Whilst none of the people stop to help the fish, the dog can be seen darting between the fish, gently nudging them with his nose, before spraying them with water from the surrounding puddles.

User Liea posted the video, which has already garnered over 300,000 views, two days ago, with the caption:

"In the city of Phetchaburi in Thailand, a dog discovered the fish out of the water and unconscious on the pavement. It will try not to let them die by spraying water with its snout. Besides the fish are few puddles. The dog will then sprinkle the fish, as if he wished they would not die. Touching!"(sic)

Unfortunately not everyone agrees that the dog is trying to save the fish, with one person commenting:

"Sorry to burst your bubble but.. the Dog isn't trying to save the fish. He think's he is burying it. He's using the water to bury it but doesn't realize that water is not dirt, and hence he cannot successfully do the job properly."
