Understandably, many brides and grooms were angry and upset upon discovering that the wedding firm they’d chosen to invest their time and money in planning their big day with had simply vanished overnight.
Poof!
Happy Talk Events on Howard Street in Glasglow reportedly shut down secretly in the dark of the night, having never warned it’s loved-up customers that they will not be sticking about to help them organised the wedding. Picture the panicked bride upon realising her orders were not about to be finished anytime soon…
The event shop was run by Michelle and Alastair McMorris, and had been a local favourite for over two decades, making it all the more shocking to couples who’d invested in the company.
Not only were the customers unable to reach the staff and management in the actual store but all social media pages and websites had been shut down too, making it a total blackout for the engaged customers.
With only four days to go until she walked down the aisle, Emma Wilson, 23 for Ayr, was in total panic having handed over £1000 in orders for the experts to decorate her venue.
She told the Evening Times:
"I'm just so angry that they could get away with this, take everyone's money and run.
"We went in to pay our final balance a few weeks ago and everything was fine, we had absolutely no idea.
"The last thing we expected to be doing four days before our wedding was trying to plan table covers and centre pieces. We had everything picked so we've had to change it all."
We can’t imagine the extra stress this added to Emma and fiancée Grant! Yikes….
Well, it’s making us think over our options for wedding planning, ey?
