We may not have had a White Christmas, but apparently we're in for a White January!

Ok, not a totally White January, but according to weather experts, snow will be hitting the UK over the next week.

Meteorologists have said that a cold front will take over Scotland and Northern Ireland on Wednesday this week, and will be set to sweep over the rest of the UK on Thursday. The Met Office has also issued a warning for snow from Wednesday onwards.

You could be forgiven, however, for not having worn any extra warming accessories so far this season, as it has been abnormally warm, with temperatures currently above average across the UK for January. Some areas have even reached 10°C - unheard of in this country!

BBC Weather presenter Carol Kirkwood said that "almost anywhere" could have some snow before the week is out.
