The 15-year-old was approached by a gang, and when they tried to sexually assault her she resisted.
Angered, the gang proceeded to set her on fire.
The youngster reportedly died after the horrific assault.
The attack took place in Shahjahanpur, India, where rape statistics are some of the highest in the world.
Four men have been arrested in connection with the shocking attack, which reportedly involved the gang dragging her into her own home where they tried to molest her.
When she fought back, the gang allegedly covered her in kerosene and set her on fire.
The police continue to hunt for two more men who they believe were responsible for the girl’s death.
An officer told the Mail Online: "All of them belong to the same village and are of the same caste as that of the girl.”
