New witnesses have reported noises and a light in the sky near the Malaysian-Thai border, prompting the search for the missing plane to continue on the Strait of Malacca and the Andaman Sea.
Investigators are now considering the possibility that the plane took a U-turn after falling off of radar systems, leading it to the area.
This comes as families of the passengers attended a press conference where airline officials were attacked with bottles of water thrown from the crowd.
Malaysian deputy police commander has said: 'A bus driver, who gave his voluntary statement on Sunday, said he saw a low-flying plane at Penarik at about 1.45am the same day flight MH370 went missing.’
‘The driver was sure that he saw the aircraft's blinking beacon lights.’
Previously, it emerged that two young Iranians were travelling on flight MH370 with stolen passports, prompting speculation that the disappearance was related to terrorism.
It has since been reported that the men using the stolen passport had no links to terrorist groups.
There has been no sign of the plane since it fell off the radar.
Investigators are currently drawing up profiles of each of the 239 people who were on board.
