One Friends-obsessed woman got the surprise of her life this week when her boyfriend got down on one knee and proposed Chandler-style in Monica’s actual apartment. Well, almost.
Krunal Desai planned the ‘perfect’ proposal when he learned the folks at Comedy Central were bringing their FriendsFest to Haggerston Park in London.
Krunal told the Metro: “We both absolutely love Friends, and Radha can’t go to sleep without watching the show. We even had a short break in our relationship, leading people to call us the real life Ross and Rachel.
“When I saw FriendsFest was returning I knew this would be the perfect setting to ask her to marry me.”
He scouted out the recreated sets and conspired with the Comedy Central team to ensure his missus didn’t get wind of the proposal.
Radha Patel thought she was being photographed for the TV channel’s website when everyone cleared the room. Krunal popped the question, Radha said ‘yes’ and then the champagne flowed!
The blushing bride-to-be said: “When I first saw the apartment I actually thought that this would be the perfect place to be proposed to. Nothing could top this proposal, it was awesome.
“As Phoebe would say, he’s my lobster!”
With so many Friends fanatics all over the word, it’s no surprise that other couples have made their own “The One with the Proposal”. Watch David and Laura’s episode at FriendsFest:
