A series of plastic water bottles and a moulding thought to be from a plane window have been found by lawyer Philippe Creissen, who lives close to where the other pieces of debris were found last week.

Speaking to the Australian Daily Telegraph, Philippe said: ‘I walk along this beach all the time and 99 per cent of the debris that’s here comes from Reunion.’

‘Recently though, there has been a lot of stuff that is not from here.’

The plastic water bottles branded with ‘Splash’ can be purchased in Malaysia, while another brand present can be bought in Taiwan.

In the presence of French journalists, Creissen also found a medication tube with Chinese writing on it.

Key factors in the case so far include a piece of the flaperon that washed onto Reunion last week. Because it has barnacles present - investigators hope they might be able to examine how long the piece might have been adrift, and if it had come from a particular part of the ocean.

Oceanographer Arnold Gordon says that a lot of the clues point to the fact that MH370 (at least in part) may have been found, saying: ‘It’s been 16 months from the crash and everything fits together.’

‘So I think the probability that it’s from 370 is pretty high.’
