At 8am this morning, five wolves escaped through a hole in their enclosure at Colchester Zoo in Essex.

One returned of it's own accord, one was captured, and two were shot. Which means that one is still on the loose.

Essex Police have tweeted that the wolf has been spotted near the zoo.

"Positive sighting of escaped wolf near @ColchesterZoo and area being contained."

Fingers crossed the animal can be captured safely and returned to his enclosure before nightfall.
