While most businesses only offer dads a small amount of leave when they welcome a child, Virgin are now offering dads the chance to spend that precious first year of their babies’ life looking after them.

Explaining the decision, Branson said it all comes down to being a family man himself.

‘I believe if you take care of your employees they will take care of your business’ said Branson, who has three grown up children.

‘As a father and now a proud Grandad to three wonderful grandchildren, I know how magical the first year of a child’s life is but also how much hard work it takes.’

‘I’m delighted that we can offer this support to our staff so that they can enjoy parental leave to the full as we continue our work in changing business for good.’

Virgin’s deal is eligible to those who have been with the company at least four years, and it is only for those who work for Virgin Management - with offices in London and Geneva.
