Earlier this week, Amy Smith, her baby daughter Ruby Grace and her friend, Edward Green died when a fire broke out at a flat in Derby.

Tragically, Edward, 17, died while he tried to save Amy, also 17, and tiny Ruby-Grace from the inferno. It’s reported that Amy died while desperately trying to save her daughter from the fire.

Now three men, all members of the same family have been charged with murder. Brothers Anthony and Simon Eyre, 21 and 24, and their dad Peter Eyre, 43, appeared at Chesterfield Magistrates today – each charged with a count of murder.

They will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday.

A 17-year-old who was also arrested in connection with the blaze has been released on bail.

Since the news came to light, hundreds of tributes have been made to the three victims.

On Twitter, a friend of Ed’s wrote: “I feel so proud to have known someone who has been so brave and selfless, RIP Ed Green you won't be forgotten.”

“Rest in peace girls and Ed, Heaven has gained two beautiful girls and a strong boy,” Jodie Mee wrote. "Thoughts go out to their family and all the people who knew them.”
