Fancy getting married in McDonald’s? Well now you can, for the bargain price of £170

Unless it’s the end of an eventful hen night, it’s not very often you spot a bride with a Big Mac. But with wedding prices on the rise and tradition getting chucked out the (drive-through) window, engaged couples are having new ideas.

A Hong Kong branch of McDonald’s has just become the 15th in which you can host a wedding. Yes, you heard us correctly.

A spokeswoman for the fast food chain said that it wasn’t McDonald's that put the idea in place, but rather that they were responding to a demand from customers. “We started the program because many customers tell us that McDonald’s is where they first started dating… McDonald’s is where their love stories grew”.

The fast food chain currently offers four different wedding packages, with the cheapest option coming in at HK $2888, approximately £170. Meanwhile, the most luxurious party package costs HK $9999, around £750.

The Luxury ‘Love Forever’ party includes the cost of hiring the venue for two hours, any McDonald’s food up to the value of £260.70, a crystal McDonald’s house ornament, gifts and invites for 50 people, an MC and an apple pie cake display. Blimey!
