According to reports, car salesman Max, played by Jake Wood, will get involved with someone who is close to the Beale’s, and could jeopardise the murder case.

After starting out a professional relationship with DC Emma Summerhayes, Max will begin a secret fling with her as the investigation into who killed Lucy continues.

A show insider told The Sun: “Summerhayes is potentially jeopardising her career by getting romantically involved with Max, as his fling with Lucy makes him a possible suspect in the murder case.

“Max is also playing with fire by risking further upset with the Beale’s.”

Because of his connection to Lucy, could Max have an ulterior motive in getting close to Emma? The source suggests that there is visible ‘chemistry’ between the two and that she could finally be the one to tame him.

The insider added: “Despite the forbidden nature of the relationship, there’s clear chemistry between the new couple and fans will have to wait and see whether Max has met his match. Could Summerhayes be the one to tame him?”

Viewers will have to wait until next month to see the start of Max and Emma’s relationship. Regular fans of the show will know that he doesn’t exactly have the best track record when it comes to women.

He and first wife Tanya were very much on and off, he cheated on her with his son’s fiancé Stacey Branning and, while planning to re-marry Tanya, he had a secret wife in the form of Kirsty.
