Kris Jarvis, 39, was hit by a drunk driver travelling at 70mph in February - an incident which devastated his fiancé Tracey Fidler and their young son.

According to Tracey, her son stopped wanting to go to school and hated leaving her side in the wake of the tragedy, quite understandably.

Tracey is now facing prison for her son's missed schooldays

But after letting her son stay off from school after his father’s death, Tracey was dealt the blow that she would be prosecuted for ‘unacceptable’ abscesses.

To make matters worse, the authority taking her to court - Reading Borough Council - was the company her fiancé worked for at the time of his death.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, Tracey said she just couldn’t believe the council’s decision to prosecute, given the circumstances.

‘He didn’t want to leave me because he thought it he did I wouldn’t be there when he came back.’

‘Adam is now thinking he is going to lose his mum. He has already lost his dad.’

4,000 people have now signed a petition asking for the action against her to be dropped, but Tracey will have to wait till October 9 to find out her fate.
