A new documentary is in the making, and it plans to reveal the identity of notorious paedophile hunters, 'Dark Justice.'

Until now, the group - who have brought justice to 40 men - have managed to keep their real identities a secret, with only those closest to them knowing that they're behind the operations.

In order to lure in potential attackers, the pair pose as underage girls on chat rooms.

When someone approaches them - knowing they are underage - they arrange to meet up in order to catch them out for their illegal intentions.

The group, based in Tyneside, have been working to catch predators for just over a year.

To date, their mission has been incredibly successful, catching out paedophiles all over the country, with 10 jail sentences at present.

One example includes John Rudd from Stockton, who was jailed in March 2015 after what was described as "texbook grooming" of a schoolgirl. He sent many flirty and sexual messages to what her believed to be a 14-year-old girl named 'Donna'.

The group already have almost 39,000 likes on Facebook, but hope that going public in the documentary following them this year will increase their relationship with the public that they aim to protect.

One half of the duo, who goes by the name of Callum, said:

“It will let us build a better relationship with the public.

“People get sceptical if we are still unmasked and we were bound to have someone do it anyway, it is inevitable.

“We might as well do it on our own terms.”

He also explained how, as awareness of their work grows, predators openly ask in chat rooms if they are talking to Dark Justice.

“Sometimes it takes a bit longer to gain their trust, but there’s still plenty of people out there to catch and we will catch more.

“We are still determined to make the internet a safe place and our focus is child protection and bringing perpetrators to face justice.”

In October 2014, Channel 4 aired a documentary named The Paedophile Hunter, which followed the similar work of Stinson Hunter, which gained a mass of media attention and won a BAFTAin May 2015.
