According to a report by WABC, Jason Hubbard entered the family’s home while the owner was taking out the bins.
He then made his way to the bedroom of the owner’s daughter, and camped out under her bed for five days.
Hubbard allegedly made sure that he could stay in contact with the outside world by charging his four cell phones with a nearby electrical outlet.
Margaret Adamcewicz, who says Hubbard dated her daughter five years ago, told the news site: "He was hiding upstairs underneath the bed, in my daughter's bedroom.
"He used to date my daughter five years ago... it didn't end well. [And] he didn't say why he came back.
“He just picked our house to hide out in. He didn't have a home to live in."
Hubbard remained hiding under the bed until Margaret’s husband heard a noise in there one day.
When he looked under the bed, he found Hubbard and immediately called police, who have since charged the man with criminal trespass, burglary, and theft of services.
Margaret, when asked what her message to her daughter’s ex would be, said firmly: "Stay away from this house and never come back."
