A Cambodian TV show has been forced to apologise to a young girl after playing a brutal trick on her.

They led the 13-year-old to believe that she was about the be reunited with her mother for the first time in seven years.

Autumn Allen was invited to appear on the show for a ‘Mother’s Day Special’, where she told hosts how she hadn’t seen her mother since moving from the US with her father.

The emotional youngster then turned around to discover that her long lost mum was actually a comedian in drag.

The man approached her dressed in pink lipstick, a blonde wig and a mini dress.

The host even asked Autumn to kiss her ‘mother’ on the cheek, though unsurprisingly the distraught teenager refused at first.

Autumn received an apology from the TV show which she shared on Facebook.

She then wrote: “Thank you for the enormous show of support regarding the 'Mother’s Day show'. I am sure there was no harm intended and I had fun on the show.”
