The polish man, 38, snatched the girl from a playground in front of her terrified mother and friend.
Zbigniew Huminski took the girl, known only as Chloe, to isolated woods in the region, where he raped and strangled her.
The 9-year-old's naked body was found half an hour later, with evidence of strangulation and sexual violence.
Chloe's terrified mother Isabelle told Police she heard her daughter's screams as she was taken by Zbigniew, but was powerless to stop him.
Huminski was found hours later and confessed to the killing, which he said took place while he was 'drunk.'
Worryingly, Huminksi was banned from France already due to several violent incidents - including one where he attached a frail pensioner with a knife.
Chloe's devastated mother told French press on Thursday: 'I've begun to understand that I will never see Chloe again.'
'Above all, I do not know how I am going to tell her little sister and little brother...I do not know if they will understand,' she added.
