April Millsap disappeared from a rural part of Detroit last Thursday, never returning after heading out to walk her dog, Penny.

And in a tragic twist, it has been revealed 14-year-old April suspected something bad was going to happen, sending her boyfriend a text message reading: 'OMG…I think I am being kidnapped' before going missing.

April's body was discovered by two hikers in a drainage pipe, after her dog Penny led them there.

Michigan police are keeping details of their investigation close to their chests, and have not confirmed how middle school student April died, though they have said she was neither shot nor stabbed.

The teen's mother, Jennifer, has spoken of how she is 'just numb' after receiving news of her daughter's death.

Her grandfather, Dennis Levans, added: 'We're at a loss. She was just a beautiful young lady.'
