Britain’s children have revealed that the perfect mum would hug like Davina, tell stories like JK Rowling, bake cakes like Mary and look like Myleene – not to mention boasting a singing voice like Beyoncé and moves like ballerina Darcey Bussell!
Not the news mums across the country want to hear - perhaps it will help to mention that the majority of five to 11 year-olds surveyed said that they believe their mother is already all these things and more.
'Nearly three-quarters of children said that mum would make a better prime minister than David Cameron'
More than half of the little ones thought their mums are more fashionable than Victoria Beckham while the same number said their mother has the brains of Einstein. Nearly three-quarters of children said that mum would make a better prime Minster than David Cameron.
But while cake-baking and story-telling was top of the list for the children’s idea of a perfect mum, less than a quarter wanted a famous mum (unless she was The Queen – because they would be made prince or princess!)
A spokesman for the Littlewoods.com survey, said: “I am sure mums everywhere will be breathing a sigh of relief to learn its the simple things like baking cakes and telling good bedtime stories that keep kids happy, as opposed to unachievable ideals.”
