Celebrity friends pay their respects to Bernie Nolan

Celebrities have taken to twitter to pay tribute to Bernie Nolan who passed away this morning following a three-year battle with cancer.

Phillip Schofield tweeted ‘Just heard the very sad news that gorgeous, courageous and inspirational Bernie Nolan has died. Big love to @NolanColeen & all the family x’

Daybreak presenter Lorraine Kelly said, ‘Bernie Nolan was a very special woman, Brave, funny and hugely talented. She will be sorely missed. Thoughts with her family and friends.’


Actress Jennifer Ellison, who worked with Bernie on The Bill and again on Calander Girls tweeted, ‘So sad to hear Bernie Nolan has passed away! Such an amazing lady, had the honour of working with her twice will cherish the memory's x’


Loose Woman Sherrie Hewson who worked alongside Bernie’s sister Coleen said, ‘RIP the wonderfully talented Bernie Nolan , a beautiful person that lit up this sometimes dark world of ours! Sing forever Bernie ! X’

Gary Lineker also tweeted saying, ‘Very sad to hear of the passing of Bernie Nolan. A fabulous and fabulously talented lady. Thoughts are with the family #ripBernie’

Breast cancer charities have also said that they are devastated by the news, calling Bernie a ‘truly inspirational woman’.
