Andre Grandin pulled over his bus in Sweden after he noticed the distraught child, who was being bullied by other children.
Emilia Behrendtz, 10, was crouched on the ground, sobbing, when Grandin approached her to see what was the matter.
Passengers on the bus were left stunned as they watched their driver pull over to the side of the road and go to sit with the crying youngster.
'We didn't know what was going on' said Emma Gustafsson, who posted the picture to Twitter. 'But then we saw that he walked up to a crying girl sitting on the road. It was really cute.'
After comforting Emilia, Grandin got back on the bus 'without saying a word' and carried on the journey.
His picture has now gone viral on the internet, with Twitter users tracking him down to reunite him with Emilia for a second photo opportunity.
Notably modest about the incident, Grandin said it was in his nature to 'help when he sees someone crying or in pain.'
What a lovely man.
