Earlier this morning, two explosions took place at Brussels Airport.

There was later a third explosion at Maalbeek Metro station, in what Belgian prosecutors have now confirmed was a suicide attack.

All public transport in Brussels has now been closed as warnings of further explosions cause extreme concern and fear for safety.

Eurostar trains and flights to and from the Belgian capital have also been suspended.

An emergency number has been set up concerning the #Brussels blasts for those wanting to ask about friends and family - (0032) 02757300.

And, on Twitter, there has been an outpouring of love from people around the world.

Mum-of-one Katie Piper wrote: “Prayers and condolences to family who have lost loved ones in Brussels today - horrible scenes.”

And Katie wasn’t the only one to offer her condolences; since news broke of the explosion, Twitter has been flooded with messages of support for those affected by the Brussels attacks.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those killed and those still awaiting updates in Brussels.
