All Britons to be flown home from Tunisia – as further terror attack ‘highly likely’

Thousands of British holidaymakers are to be flown home from North Africa, after warnings that another terrorist attack in the region is ‘highly likely.’

Following the loss of 30 British tourists who were killed in an attack on a Sousse beach, the Foreign Office have now said all holidaymakers should leave the country.

They added even with ramped up security, this could not provide ‘adequate protection’ for it to be seen as safe.

Between 2,500 and 3,000 Brits are currently enjoying Tunisian package holidays, while there are thought to be about 300 independent travellers.

Customers with Thomson and First Choice, both popular tour operators, will be flown back ‘within the next 24 hours’ - the firms have confirmed.

Thomson and First Choice, along with Thomas Cook, have now cancelled flights to the region for the rest of the summer season.
