Melissa Hart, 23, from Macclesfield, England, said she was attacked by a group of monkeys in Gibraltar.

She explained how as she approached the monkeys they began pulling at her hair and clothes, with one of the Barbary macaques pulling her bikini top off completely.

The monkeys began pawing at her ‘most intimate areas’ which left her feeling shaken and humiliated.

Bystanders apparently stood by and watched the event unfold, rather than assisting her, and she was only helped when a warden was alerted to her screams.

Despite going to the police station to file a report, Melissa was told wild animals ‘cannot be held criminally responsible’ and so nothing could be done.
