Kieron Flux, 18, who was from the Isle of White, went missing after a night out earlier this year.

After an evening of drinking in the town centre of the Val D’Isere resort in the French Alps, Kieron became separated from the rest of his group.

While the rest of the drinkers, who had been rounded up by tour company reps, thought Flux may have hooked up with a girl and gone back to her hotel, the truth was he had got lost and succumbed to the cold.

He was found frozen solid the next morning, when his father and pals realised he was missing.

In a statement his father said his son had drunk about six beers before heading out for the evening.

He tragically described how he had woken in the night to see someone sleeping on the sofa, and had assumed it was his son.

After realising it was another, the dad added: ‘I thought he had struck lucky and found a girl and was sleeping it off.’

Following a morning on the slopes, the dad became concerned when his son didn’t surface, and so called reps to search for him.

His body was then found by rescue helicopter, frozen solid.

In a morbid twist, the Isle of Wight coroner said the French had detained some of the teen’s organs without explanation, and they would be investigating this.

His demise was recorded as death by misadventure with the cause of death being hypothermia contributed to by intoxication.
