6-year-old Danny Nickerson was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour last year.

Doctors told Danny’s mother that he had just a 10% chance of living more than a further 18 months.

Since his diagnosis, Danny has had to drop out of school and often told his mother that he felt ‘lonely,’ but felt better when friends sent him letters and cards.

As Danny’s sixth birthday approached, his mum asked him what he would like to celebrate the milestone.

Danny replied that he wanted a birthday card from ‘everyone in the world.’

As news of Danny’s wish spread through the Internet, the Nickerson family were inundated with delightful birthday cards as well as donations towards the little boy’s expensive medical bills.

“We are shocked and speechless,” Danny’s mum says “We opened about 200 of them... and he loved seeing them! One had a picture of a fat cat on it and another with a cat blowing out candles and he laughed so hard.”

What an adorable and inspirational story- proof that it's the little things that matter.
