The single mother, who claims she is too ill to work because she's depressed, was accused of being 'bone idle' by a member of the Conservative party, and it seems many others agree with him.

The 42-year-old, who's also had a hair and makeup overhaul for her television appearances, is also rumoured to appear on Celebrity Big Brother - which could get her up to £60,000.

'I haven't been on benefits my whole life,' says White. 'At the moment I am not in a place where (I can work). I suffer with depression and I am being assessed for bipolar disorder.

Dee has been unable to work since her mother died.

She explains her condition as: 'I have a good day, I have three bad days and then I have two good days. What sort of employed would I ring up and say "sorry I can't come in for three days - I'm low.'

White has admitted she receives around £200 a week in benefits, which she has received every week since 7 years ago when she was sacked from her job as a council administrator.
