Following her brief appearance on television screens the world over, Axelle was offered a modelling gig with beauty giant L’Oreal, who also boasts the likes of Cheryl Cole and Claudia Schiffer as brand ambassadors.

Soon, pictures emerged of the teenager’s recent hunting trip, which she had posted on Facebook.

She posted a photo of herself posing with a gun as she stood over an antelope.

She shared it with the caption: “Hunting is not a matter of life or death. It’s much more important than that… This was about 1 year ago… Ready to hunt Americans today haha.”

A Twitter user then pointed out the photo to L’Oreal, writing: ‘What do you think of this post by your new model Axelle Despiegelaere?”

Is this the world's fluffiest rabbit?

Following the release of a Youtube video featuring the teen model, the beauty giant released a statement revealing that they would no longer be working with Axelle.

The statement read: "L’Oréal Professionnel Belgium collaborated with her on an ad hoc basis to produce a video for social media use in Belgium. The contract has now been completed."
