… and by twist, we mean a thundery, rainy twist.
Sigh.
First things first, let’s start with the GOOD NEWS; it’s going to be a hot and sunny weekend, with temperatures hitting around 20 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
Met Office forecaster Alex Burkill said: “What we’ve got on Saturday is a good deal of sunny weather and in the sunshine it will be pretty warm.
“Generally we’re looking at a fine day with temperatures of around 20 to 21 degrees, which is a couple of degrees warmer than the average.”
And Leon Brown, forecaster for The Weather Company, added: “The weather in the north and west will be best.
“High pressure will remain in the north and low pressure in the south, this means easterly breezes, so the east coast will be quite chilly.
“Away from the east coast, it will feel pleasantly warm with temperatures in the 19 to 23C range.”
But, as we well know, all good things - and all good weather - must come to an end.
Which is why, come Bank Holiday Monday, it’ll be a very different story.
Think heavy rain and thunderstorms, for a start.
Alex Burkill said: “Monday should start fine but it looks like we should have some strong winds, rain and perhaps even some thunder at times.
“So people should make the most of Saturday and Sunday.”
Sound advice - and, to be honest, we ARE Brits.
As Frozen’s Elsa might say: “The rain never bothered us anyway.”
