The MP said women breastfeeding in public should “sit in a corner” before saying they should try and not be “openly ostentatious”.
He added: “It is not an issue that I get terribly hung up about but I know particularly people of the older generation feel awkward and embarrassed about it.”
Farage’s comments come as a 35-year-old mother this week revealed she was asked by staff in Claridge's to cover herself with a napkin as she fed her three month old daughter.

When asked about the incident, he told LBC: “Perhaps [women should] sit in a corner or whatever it might be. That’s up to Claridge’s.”
Since his comments were aired, breastfeeding advocates and campaigners have hit back.
Prime Minister David Cameron has since branded his remarks “totally unacceptable” while Mumsnet called his thoughts “bemusing.”
