Xiao Pang, who has been nicknamed 'Little Fat,' has pushed the previous biggest baby off the top spot, weighing 1/2 pound more than his predecessor Chun Chun - who was delivered via C-Section in February 2012.
The world's heaviest baby on record was said to be in 1879 in Ohio - weighing in at 23 pounds 12 ounces. Unfortunately the baby died soon after birth.
When a baby is born weighing any more than 8lbs 13 this can signal health problems - and any baby weghing this much is registered as having fetal macrosomia.
Larger babies are also at risk of shoulder dystocia - where the newborn's shoulders are too big to fit through the mother's pelvic bone on delivery. This can mean the baby experiences broken or fractured bones during delivery and this can cause considerable trauma to the birth canal in the mother.
