Police have managed to track down the parents of a young baby who had been locked in a hotel safe.

According to The Mirror, authorities were alerted when the family disappeared after hotel staff discovered the infant.

A maintenance worker freed the baby after they heard her crying.

According to the parents, the six month old baby girl had been accidentally locked in the safe by an older sibling during a game of ‘hide and seek’ gone wrong.

The baby spent more than half an hour in the tiny, cramped safe but thankfully was left uninjured.

Police in Niagara, a town on the border between the US and Canada, claim that the child’s parents have been ‘very co-operative’ with their investigation.

Sgt, Chris Stewart told local news: “The family was unaware of all the attention they had received and were very cooperative with investigators from the Child Abuse Unit.”
