Women are used to seeing baby changing facilities in public toilets. From shopping centres to gyms there is almost always a spot where you can safely change your baby’s nappy when nature calls.
But for men this can often be a much more frustrating chore due to the lack of facilities.
Actor Ashton Kutcher has spoken out about the lack of nappy changing tables in men’s toilets, speaking of his own frustration since becoming dad to 5-month-old daughter Wyatt with new wife Mila Kunis.
In fact, he’s grown so fed up he’s even launched an online petition demanding for US retailers to "provide universally accessible changing tables in their stores."
He shared the petition on his Facebook page, writing: "It seems this idea of diaper changing stations has struck a chord.
"It's a pet peeve of mine when people just complain about s**t and don't do anything to improve their condition. So lets do something. In for equality? Pass it on - #LeanInTogether (sic).”
It has already garnered over 70,000 signatures.
He recently told website Aplus: "I would like my daughter to experience a world where gender doesn't dictate one's responsibility or limit one's opportunity.
“Having changing tables in men's rooms is just a tiny step in the process of rectifying legacy gender discrimination. Men who are aware of this bias want to participate equally in the child care process and our society should support that. It's time to get our hands dirty."
Do you think there should be nappy changing tables in men's toilets?
