George at ASDA Little Mermaid swimsuits for young girls accidentally printed with X-rated Ariels!
ASDA shopper Chelsee Mosson was "mortified" during a recent shopping trip, when she stumbled upon a Little Mermaid swimming costume for children featuring a topless Ariel.
Chelsee, a sports development and coaching student, immediately posted a picture of her shock discovery on Twitter, writing: "Absolutely mortified to see this on Asda's shelf this evening @asda. A 3-4 year old swimming costume. What's going on?"
Commenting on the incident, the 22-year-old - who was shopping with her partner at the time - told Unilad: "We were quite shocked about it.
"We both said if the design was to have a bikini top sewed onto it, it should have had a bikini top printed on too, just incase something like this happened.
"It’s a bizarre misprint," she added.
Asda's service team have since responded on Twitter and apologised to Chelsee for printing error, while a spokesperson for the company explained that the NSFW swimsuits were due to a printing error rather than an inappropriate design.
"We’re sorry for the printing error on the Little Mermaid swimsuit, which was caused during the production process," they explained.
"It only affected a very small number of the swimsuits which were available from George, but we’d like to reassure our customers that we have removed all stock from sale and will ensure this doesn’t happen again."
