Amazon apologises after father finds ‘parcel left in rubbish bin’

A father was left shocked when his Amazon package was left in a filled dustbin by a delivery man.

Phil Norris said he was ‘mystified’ to find that the note left through his letterbox informed him his package was in the rubbish bin outside – the day before it was due to be collected.

CCTV.co.uk reportedly said it has seen a drive in sales as customers continue to get infuriated over parcels, which are hidden in bizarre places such as bins and in one case on a roof.

A spokesman for Amazon responded: “We are sorry to learn about this experience and take complaints of this nature very seriously.

"We will, of course, replace the item at no charge.”

It appears people are now installing CCTV to keep an eye out on where their missing packages are going.

CCTV.co.uk spokesperson Jonathan Ratcliffe said: “We have customers installing home CCTV systems simply so they can see where parcels were left.

“It seems totally crazy, but it’s actually happening all over the country.”
