After doctors were forced to amputate her leg above the knee, it has been reported that Leah Washington’s first question to new boyfriend Joe Pugh was: “Will this change anything between us?"

The couple were reunited in hospital following 17-year-old Leah’s shocking amputation.

Joe, 18, was left with two broken legs in the horrific roller coaster crash 10 days ago.

The teen revealed to The Mirror: "She asked me whether it would change anything between us and I said absolutely not. She's the same person.

"We've got a long road ahead of us."

Joe added: "We were together at the beginning, we're together now and we'll be together as we travel down that road - and we'll be leaning on each other every step of the way."

Leah added that the shocking accident had "bonded them together in a way few people can understand".

After the crash and before emergency services were able to attend to them, Joe explained that they inspected each other’s injuries.

Alton Towers has now reopened, but an investigation is now underway to determine what caused the horrific accident.
