Knowing that he wouldn't be there for her real big day in the future, Jim Zetz, 62, walked his daughter down the aisle in their back garden.
Jim is suffering with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer and wanted his daughter Josie to have the opportunity to be given away by her father.
Photographer Lindsey Villatoro staged the ceremony after meeting the family when she shot their portrait.
She said: 'One day [you] wake up and realise you're given the opportunity to change someone's life for the better.'
When Villatoro discovered that 11-year-old Josie was upset her father wouldn't be there for future events in her life, the photographer suggested holding a fake wedding to co-inside with Josie's birthday.
In 72 hours, they gathered everything they needed to stage the wedding - including friends, family and strangers to attend.
Writing on YouTube, Villatoro said: 'Josie, you will forever have a video of you and your dad walking you down the aisle to play at your wedding in years to come, as if he was physically there.'
